Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a muscular dystrophy disease associated with back limbs of the dachshund and leads to a stiff gait, sometime referred to as a ‘bunny hop.’  Clinical signs can appear as young as 6 months of age, the genetic test allows owners to diagnose affected dogs at an early age.
