Xanthine Urolithiasis (Manchester Terrier Type)

Description

Xanthine Urolithiasis is a disorder that is characterised by the excretion of large quantities of xanthine in the urine. The enzyme that normally converts xanthine to uric acid is damaged. Therefore, xanthine results from low solubility, and it precipitates easily forming xanthine stones. These xanthine stones can irritate the urinary tract, increases urinary tract infection susceptibility, cause urination stagnation and can lead to secondary kidney damage.
